For Valentine’s Day 2020, Lula Lounge invites you to think outside the (heart-shaped) box
While a quiet candle-lit dinner for two and a box of chocolates can be lovely, Lula Lounge’s Valentine’s Day events offer guests the chance to put a creative spin on their plans this year with a different kind of night out (and no need for worry - dinner is still happening!)
With its romantic lighting and intimate ambience, Lula Lounge is always a top-choice Toronto restaurant for Valentine’s Day, and this year is no exception. Lula is offering three different ways to celebrate this amorous occasion, from a seating for early (love) birds, to those who’d like to dance late into the night. All options feature delicious creations from their special tropical-fusion Valentine’s Day menu, and world-class live musical performances to transport lovers to warmer lands.
Early Seating: Tango Passion Dinner & Show
This early show features a live performance of one of the most passionate musical genres there is, by Canada’s Payadora Tango Ensemble, who fuse Argentine and Uruguayan tango with elements of classical, Eastern European, and Latin jazz. Guests will enjoy the music as they dine on a three-course meal, either selected from our prix-fixe menu, or from our special Valentine’s Sharing Menu for Two, which incorporates aphrodisiac ingredients into its dishes to help set the mood.
(Tango Passion package: $59 per person + tax and tip)
Valentine’s Dinner & Cuban Salsa Concert
For those whose Valentine’s Day ideas include dancing cheek-to-cheek with someone special, this may be the ideal seating. This option includes the same menu options as listed above, followed by a beginner salsa lesson! Once guests have the basics down, they can shake, shimmy, and sway the night away to the sounds of a live Cuban salsa orchestra led by Toronto’s much beloved salsero, Yani Borrell. This seating is from 8:30- 11:30, but folks are welcome (and encouraged!) to stay all night long and enjoy a second late-night salsa set on the dance floor. DJ Suave will keep the party moving between live sets with a danceable mix of bachata, salsa, merengue, reggaetón, top 40 and more.
(Dinner and salsa package: $69 per person + tax and tip)
Midnight Romance Charcuterie Platter & Salsa Concert and Dancing
For those looking to cap off their Valentine’s Day in a unique way, we are offering a late-night seating from midnight to 2am. Those who choose this option will indulge in a delicious charcuterie platter for two of a carefully chosen selection of cheese and sliced meats, alongside dried and fresh fruit, a homemade dip and chocolate dipped strawberries. Then dance the night away to the late set of Yani Borrell’s Cuban salsa orchestra, with DJ Suave finishing out the night.
(Midnight Romance package: $75 per couple + tax and tip)
Vegan version available with advance request.
Dancing & Concert
Like every Friday, there is also the dancing-only option, for those who are looking to head straight for the dance floor.
(admission is $15 at the door)
No matter what option guests choose, treating a partner / boyfriend girlfriend / spouse / lover or even friend to Lula’s fresh take on Valentine’s Day celebrations is a thoughtful gift, either instead of, or in addition to that classic box of chocolates.
Lula Lounge strives to be an inclusive space for all, and welcomes members of the LGBTQ+ community.
